Substance: A Review of Theory & Literary Criticism (2007) Vol. 36 Issue 2, p. 20-36.

The article investigates a thought of equality that allows individuals to think anarchism in a positive fashion without permitting it to become programmatic in a way that repeats the mistakes associated with Marxism, one that French historian and theorist Jacques Rancière himself has not pursued, in order to show that the politics he describes also has within it an ethics to which the politics can appeal. It discusses mainstream politics.
